Help shape the future of the county

We're looking for a new Chair of our Planning and Policy Group

The Hampshire countryside is at risk from unplanned and uncoordinated growth. Some of our most precious areas of countryside are now protected as a direct result of our passion and dedication, but much more needs to be done before we can say that our valued green spaces will be there for generations to come.

CPRE Hampshire has a rich heritage of supporting local communities in relation to environmental issues, with significant success across the county, including the creation of the South Downs National Park, and recent progress towards introducing a new Green Belt in the south of the county.

We are at an exciting point in our history. We are continuously transforming the way we work and widening our appeal to ensure we continue to achieve our objectives of a beautiful and thriving countryside for everyone to enjoy.

We aspire to be a positive and proactive partner in the development of our county, playing an active role in the growth of Hampshire for the benefit of its population and environment. We are looking for a superb Chair to lead our Planning and Policy Group and play an central role in this busy branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England.

You will be a strategic thinker, able to see the bigger picture and ensure the branch tackles the key issues for the county. You will be a brilliant convenor of people, able to get the most out of our 36 expert group members and work closely with our small staff team and other volunteers. Finally, you will have a passion for our countryside and be enthused by the opportunity to set the policy direction for the branch.
