Eastleigh and southern Winchester District update

31 August 2016

Update on our work with local action group Action against Destructive Development.

Since a fairly frustrating Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC) meeting at the end of July, CPRE Hampshire has been working alongside local group Action against Destructive Development on the next steps to fight Options B & C (proposal for 6,200 houses and a new road on green fields to the north of the borough on high quality countryside).

Please can you take the time to sign the petition to Get the Chickenhall Lane Link Road Moving. If this road was built it would open up a number of development options for the council and therefore dramatically reduce the likelihood of Options B & C in their current form and the new road.

Please share with friends and colleagues. This is beneficial to anyone living or working in the Eastleigh area and across wider South Hampshire as it will reduce congestion in the town centre considerably.

Action against Destructive Development report that on 8th September 2016, EBC’s cabinet is due to meet to decide the way ahead. This will be followed by a full council meeting which they hope as many people as possible will attend.
