New short film ‘The Hedge’, by Simon Dures, is a celebration of our Hampshire Hedge project and the community of people involved. Find out more and enjoy watching.

The Hampshire Hedge has been a three-year project to create new hedgerow and restore existing hedgerows between the two National Parks in Hampshire. We started with two volunteers on our first planting day back in 2023 and now three years on, with the help of over 300 volunteers, we have reached and gone past our 15km target, planting 16,222 meters of new hedgerow by April 2026.

What a fantastic achievement! We are so proud of our hedgerow team; Ellie, Katy and all the brilliant volunteers, landowners, community groups and schools that they have worked with us over the last three years.

Film maker Simon Dures has followed the project over the last two years, coming along to numerous events and interviewing people involved with the project in different ways.

We are delighted to be able to share his film ‘The Hedge’ with you. It is a real celebration of hedgerows and the community of people who are working hard to raise awareness of the importance of hedgerows in our landscape.

So, grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy this 16-minute film and think about all our volunteers who have planted over 16km of new hedgerow across Hampshire .

A big thank you to them … this film is a testament to all their hard work and efforts.
