Call for Landowners

17th December 2025

As part of our Hampshire Hedge project, we’re calling on landowners to help expand the hedgerow network and connect the South Downs National Park with the New Forest National Park.

Why plant hedgerows?

  • Shade & shelter for livestock – Natural protection from harsh weather.
  • Prevent soil erosion – Roots stabilize and maintain healthy soil.
  • Boost biodiversity – Support a rich variety of plants and wildlife.
  • Create habitats – Essential for birds, insects, and small mammals

Key areas:

  • Copythorne
  • Romsey
  • Ampfield
  • Hursley
  • Compton
  • Olivers Battery

If you are outside of this area, please still get in touch as our project boundaries are not fixed.

Please email ellie.banks@cprehampshire.org.uk if you’d like to know more.
