The Hampshire Hedge & The Big Green Match Fund

CPRE Hampshire are delighted to have been selected to take part in the Green Match campaign. We are raising funds for our most ambitious Hedgerow Hero project to date.

And as part of the Big Give Green Match Fund – any donation you make will be matched and doubled.

What is The Hampshire Hedge?

The Hampshire Hedge is a green corridor of hedgerow linking the New Forest National Park to the South Downs National Park. It will wind its way through the central heart of Hampshire parishes and link woodlands, meadows, local nature reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs).

It will provide all the benefits we know a humble hedgerow has to offer. A haven for wildlife, offering shelter, homes and food, acting as a barrier for livestock, protecting the soil from erosion and flooding and sucking carbon from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate climate change.

How your donation can make a difference

• £10     =  spades and gloves for our work with schools
• £25     =  plants, people and equipment for one meter of hedgerow
• £100   =  plants, people and equipment for five meters of hedgerow
• £250   =  a one day event to train local people in hedgelaying skills
• £500   =  work with local schools to plant hedges and run lessons
• £1000 =  one hedgelaying traineeship for 3 months.

The Big Green Match Fund will only match and double your donation in accordance with the following rules:

– donations must be placed online
– donations must be placed between Thursday 20 and Thursday 27 April
