Highcliffe School plant their own hedge with Sir Christopher Chope MP

In February 2022, CPRE Hampshire were delighted to meet with Sir Christopher Chope, MP for Christchurch, at Highcliffe School, to talk about the benefits of hedgerows and to assist in planting a new hedge on the school site. The students had already been learning about hedgerows as part of their citizenship course.

Hedge planting can be dirty work so gloves were at the ready for the students to take part.

The students had carefully selected the site of the new hedge themselves.
They ended the session with a commitment to look after the hedge. We look forward to a visit to see it’s progress in the future.
