Before it all began: soil surveying

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust also taught our volunteers how to survey soil.
Two of our volunteers get stuck in with augurs at Scots Corner to sample the soil for carbon and nutrients.
The planting of new hedges will enhance the levels of both, thus sequestering more carbon and improving the soil quality.
