A new team of fabulous volunteers for Upper Brownwich Farm hedges.
First, was a tour of the farmland.
The farm includes hedgerows adjacent to a coastal path.
The afternoon was spent learning hedgerow assessment criteria and identification skills.
The second day included training with the People’s Trust for Endangered Species.
Inspired by what they heard, the volunteers decided to also monitor dormice activity to feed back to PTES.
Mac setting up dormouse tunnel as part of the initial surveys.
Forty footprint tunnels were placed in hedgerow around the farm.
