CPRE Hampshire on the Road

7th August 2024

With Summer in full swing, it is great to see our CPRE Hampshire volunteers at lots of the brilliant summer shows and events across Hampshire.

The North Hampshire Team attended the Dogmersfield, Winchfield & Crookham Flower show on Saturday 20th July, their second of the year after recently manning a stall at the Hartley Wintney Show.

People were keen to hear about our work to restore Hampshire’s hedgerows as well as learning more about our rooftop solar campaign. Members also talked to lots of people about how they could support the work of CPRE Hampshire, the Countryside Charity to create a beautiful thriving countryside, for everyone to enjoy.

The CPRE Hampshire team then spent three days at the New Forest & Hampshire Show, from 30th July – 1st August.  In glorious sunshine, we spoke to hundreds of visitors who were attending the prestigious agricultural show from across the county. Our stand was situated in the ‘Heart of the Forest’ area, next to the New Forest National Park, and we were delighted to be in the winning team for the Show Cup for the best area in the showground.

We had lots of fun activities for all the family, from lucky dips to ‘leaf hammering’ which attracted lots of interest, and helped people explore the beauty of our hedgerows in a new way.

We were pleased to be selling bespoke countryside cards, created especially for CPRE Hampshire by Rosemany & Dan Powell, local Hampshire artists whose love for the Hampshire countryside shines through in their beautifully illustrated cards.

We were able to pack away whilst the sun was still shining ..ready for our next outing on the 7th September for CPRE’s National Countryside Day!
