Become a Trustee and Help Shape the Future of Hampshire’s Countryside

28th January 2026

Hampshire’s countryside is one of our county’s greatest assets. A place where communities thrive, wildlife flourishes and landscapes hold centuries of history. At CPRE Hampshire, we work to protect these precious spaces, and we’re looking for passionate individuals to join us on that mission as trustees.

Why become a trustee?

As a trustee, you’ll play a meaningful role in shaping our direction and ensuring the voices of local people are heard. Trustees help protect the landscapes we all cherish, making sure they can be enjoyed not only today, but by future generations.

You don’t need to be an expert. What matters most is your enthusiasm, your insight and your commitment to support our mission: to promote, enhance and protect a thriving countryside.

We also warmly welcome people early in their careers or studying at university as fresh perspectives strengthen our movement and help us see new possibilities for the future.

What will you be doing?

As part of our Board of Trustees, you will share responsibility for:

  • Shaping and delivering our long‑term strategy to protect Hampshire’s countryside
  • Supporting the smooth, effective administration of the charity
  • Helping safeguard our financial sustainability
  • Encouraging and supporting the recruitment of volunteers and staff
  • Ensuring we meet all legal and regulatory responsibilities
  • Acting as a positive ambassador for CPRE Hampshire in the community
  • Upholding and promoting our values, purpose and reputation

Beyond these essential duties, you’ll also help drive fundraising efforts, enabling us to expand our conservation, community and campaigning work across the county.

Your chance to make a lasting impact

Trustees play a vital role behind the scenes – setting direction, shaping priorities and ensuring our charity remains strong, strategic and effective. By joining the board, you’ll be helping to secure the future of Hampshire’s countryside and its communities.
