Cleaner countryside

Working towards a litter-free countryside

“An indescribable heap of filthy paper, empty fruit tins, broken bottles, cigarette and chocolate wrappers, matchboxes, cigarette ends and other litter.”

This was used by a local newspaper to describe the results of a litter pick organised by CPRE with the help of local school children in Sheffield. In 1929.

It is a sad reflection that the results of litter picks taking place today, could be described in a vastly similar way. Disposing of litter in the appropriate manner should be an easily maintained, society standard. Unfortunately, that just isn’t always what happens in reality. That’s where we come in.
