Local elections 6 May 2021

Ruth Davey

On 6 May, Hampshire residents will be voting in local elections. CPRE has put together a manifesto for the 2021 local elections, Stand up for your local countryside, along with some handy resources for you to use.

Our manifesto for the 2021 local elections, Stand up for your local countryside, covers four priority areas:

  1. Countryside solutions to the climate emergency
  2. A planning system that works for people, nature and the environment
  3. Rural transport and a comprehensive bus network for rural communities
  4. Litter and an ‘all-in’ Deposit Return Scheme for drinks containers

Stand up for your local countryside manifesto

To help you stand up for your local countryside, we’ve produced some handy resources for you to share with your prospective councillors asking them what they will do to protect, promote and enhance the countryside if they are elected on 6 May. There’s also a letter you can use to send to your local paper, magazine or community newsletter:
