We urgently need your help as events are cancelled!
2020 has been a busy year for CPRE Hampshire. Coronavirus has not put a stop to planning applications and we have been as active as ever all through the year as those of you who have read the recent issue of ‘Hampshire Views’ will have seen!
The one area where it has been impossible to continue our activities is our busy events calendar. No events sadly means no income and I’m writing to you now to ask if you could support our appeal for funds in the absence of our usual get-togethers? Ironically, there has been a surge of appreciation for the countryside and our local green spaces during lockdown but with no events, this cannot be converted into much needed funds.
Last year the generosity of our members and supporters contributed to our report on the Socioeconomic and Environmental value of the South Hampshire Countryside and this was launched in June to much interest among decision makers in Hampshire and further afield. It has proved to be very positive and puts a real financial value on those precious green spaces we love and helps to give the countryside a stronger voice. We want to add other parts of Hampshire’s countryside to this piece of work and your donation could contribute to this.
This year we are seeing more and more need for proactive planning work throughout the county as Local Plans come up for renewal, large developments are proposed throughout Hampshire and the effects of the proposed new planning reforms loom. We would like to employ a part–time planner to help with the work of our volunteer run Planning and Policy Group, respond to pleas of help from the districts as they tackle large scale planning applications and assist our volunteers with larger pieces of work like the recent Planning White Paper responses.
We would really appreciate your support at this particularly testing but still hopeful time for our beautiful countryside in Hampshire.
This is a Hampshire specific appeal and your donation will go to help protect the Hampshire countryside now and for generations to come. Thank you so much for your support.
