‘The Importance of AONBs’

We are delighted to be hosting the annual Autumn Supper this year with two guest speakers.

What is an AONB? What does it entail?

Henry Oliver is Director of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Henry will give a brief introduction to the landscape itself, what the designation means and what the AONB Partnership actually does. He will provide examples of current activity to conserve and enhance the area’s natural beauty.

What does the future hold for our nationally protected landscapes?

Sarah Nichols is Chair of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s governing Council of Partners. Sarah will be outlining some of the issues facing AONBs and National Parks nationally in the wake of the Government-commissioned Landscapes Review led by Julian Glover. She will touch on forthcoming changes to farming support and the challenges of wider access, inclusion, diversity and health and wellbeing.

Venue: Preston Candover Village Hall, RG25 2DN

Date and time: Friday, 12th November at 7pm

Tickets: £30.00 per person and include entry, a reception drink and canapés and supper. To order your tickets and get details of payment, please contact Hannah Houstin-Lacey on 01256 381 863 or by email at hannahhoustinlacey@yahoo.co.uk. Thank you.
