A Talk & Supper with Hampshire Wildlife Photographer Dennis Bright

On Friday 26th September, the CPRE Test Valley District Group is holding a Talk & Supper at Longstock Village Hall, starting at 6.45pm; both members and non-members are invited to come along and enjoy what will be a fascinating and enjoyable evening. The evening starts with a two-course supper (wine and fruit juices will be on sale), followed by a superbly illustrated talk by the nationally acclaimed wildlife photographer Dennis Bright.

Dennis is a long-time resident of Hampshire, whose passion for the environment and for photographing the local wildlife has earned him a national reputation that is hard to beat. In 2007 he had six separate articles and photos printed in the national press, from witnessing the escape of trout from a hatchery into the River Itchen, to 'persuading' a Robin to perch on his chin to take a tasty mealworm! Dennis will be bringing these pictures, and many more, for you to enjoy during the course of the evening. He will also be talking about his Barn Owl project in the Test Valley and beyond, which has seen over 50 pairs of birds successfully introduced to the area.

Pam Mason, organiser, said

"Dennis is a very witty and entertaining speaker, and his passion and enthusiasm for his subject really shows in his presentation. His philosophy seems to be 'wait long and patiently, and the most remarkable things will happen in front of your eyes'. We will have the opportunity of seeing these wonderful moments captured, without sitting for hours in a home-made drainpipe, as Dennis has done!

The cost of the evening is £20; this includes a two course meal before the talk, using locally sourced ingredients where possible.

Wine and soft drinks will be on sale throughout the evening.

If you would like tickets to this event, please contact the Test Valley DG Chairman John Cooper on 01264 359911, or the CPRE Branch Office on 01962 843655, email admin@cprehampshire.org.uk, or by post to: CPRE Hampshire, Beaconsfield House, Andover Road, Winchester, SO22 6AT.
