Prizes for laser shooting at CPRE's Countryside Day

More exciting activities are being added to the line-up at the forthcoming CPRE Countryside Day to be held from 11.30 to 4pm on Sunday 11th May at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield.

Young people and adults alike will now be able to participate in target practice and competitions in a 'Laser Clay Pigeon Shoot' in the bottom field.

Southampton Orienteering will organise string orienteering for younger children; teenagers and adults may wish to participate in the Park's longer orienteering course. The RSPB will be bringing owl pellets for children to study and dissect; FalconHigh will show a variety of falcons both in the display ring and at close quarters in their marquee.

Other activities include having a go at 'Forest Knights' wilderness skills, fly-fishing, juggling and 'Beat the Goaly' football fun. There will also be competitions with prizes that include family tickets to play cricket at South Winchester golf course, visit Finkley Down Farm in Andover and to the New Forest Show in July.

Becky French of the Campaign to Protect Rural England who is organising the event with the help of Winchester University students, said:
