CPRE Hampshire is gardening the easy way

The Mid-Hampshire District Group of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) has organised a garden management talk by the renowned local horticulturist and landscape gardener, Mr Norman Hambrook, from Hambrook's Nurseries near Fareham. Norman's subject is 'Painless Garden Management' which promises to be a highly entertaining and informative two hour talk designed to provide guests with the knowledge to 'garden the easy way'. This fundraising talk will be held at the Gloucester Hall in Colden Common Community Centre, near Winchester, on Tuesday 3rd October at 2.30pm. The cost is £5.00 per person, which will include light refreshments during the interval.

John Budden, CPRE Mid Hampshire's Honorary Treasurer, said:

"With a lifetime's experience, Norman Hambrook, the founder and managing director of Hambrook's Nurseries has much to offer in all aspects of horticulture. His illustrated talks are presented with a lively, entertaining style, which contain a fascinating mixture of old tricks and loads of new ideas in the process of explaining his way of creating beautiful gardens. Norman's favourite subject is 'easy gardening' and you will find his refreshing attitude reflected in his talk on 'Painless Garden Management'.

At county level, CPRE Hampshire has played an active part in some high profile campaigns during the past year, including preparing detailed comments on the draft South East Plan and involvement with the plans for the New Forest National Park and the proposed South Downs National Park. Closer to home, local CPRE members keep a watching eye on many topics that may affect the countryside, from water and waste management to local planning proposals such as Barton Farm and organising hedgerow surveys."

Please make reservations by forwarding a cheque for £5.00, payable to 'CPRE, Mid Hampshire District Group' to the Hon Treasurer, Meadowlands, 22 Harvest Road, Denmead, Hampshire, PO7 6LD. For further information on this event, please call 02392 343731, or e mail: j.budden3@ntlworld.com.
