To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) in Hampshire (and the 90th nationally), the Mayor of Ringwood, Cllr Michael Thierry, planted a Purple Beech tree on Bickerley Green in the market town on 11 February 2016.

The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) has commented on the Eastleigh Borough Local Plan (2011-36), urging the council to scrap or dramatically scale back two of the options under consideration.

The charity CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) Hampshire Branch is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its founding this month and to mark the occasion the CPRE Test Valley District Group planted a native oak in Harmony Wood on the edge of the growing East Anton development, just north of Andover.

The charity was first registered on 14 January 1966 and works across the county to protect and enhance a beautiful, thriving countryside for everyone to value and enjoy.
