The countryside you cherish is disappearing fast
On average, during every year of the last decade, 20 square miles of countryside were ripped up and replaced with housing estates, roads and industry. The biggest culprit is urban sprawl. As the demand for housing on our small island grow, too many of our green spaces are sacrificed when previously developed land in our towns and cities could be re-used instead.
Help fight for a beautiful and living countryside
CPRE campaigns to influence Government policy and legislation to protect the countryside. In Hampshire we campaign to protect and enhance the character of the Hampshire countryside, to defend it from damaging development and to promote sustainable development. We are active across the county and have voluntary teams covering five local areas in the north, north east, South Downs and central, south and Test Valley.
With your help, you can help us stand up for the Hampshire countryside that all of us can enjoy for generations to come.
