Results of CPRE Hampshire Transport Survey 2004 317 questionnaires were sent to parish councils, amenity societies and associations across Hampshire. At the date of this analysis (15 November 2004) 165 completed responses had been received, giving an excellent overall response rate of over 52%. Results 1. All villages in Hampshire should have a speed limit of 30 mph 2. There should be more 20 mph limits in village centres 3. People in our area feel disadvantaged by a lack of public transport at a time when they need it 4. It is unsafe for ramblers, riders, cyclists and pedestrians to use rural routes in our area 5. There should be improved provision for cycling, by way of cycle lanes 6. It is more appropriate within the countryside that cycle lanes are indicated by road markings alone, and without blue signs 7. Some lanes in our area should become 'quiet lanes' November 2004 |
