- By putting an aluminium drink can in the wheelie-bin as rubbish you are throwing away the energy equivalent to a gallon of petrol.
- Four out of every five drinks cans world-wide are entirely made of aluminium.
- Aluminium Recycling Plants only cost about 10% of the price of a primary ore smelter and yields metal with only 5% of the energy input - a 95% energy saving!
- Aluminium fetches a much higher scrap price than steel.
- Do not cook acidic foods in aluminium pans.
- Foil represents nearly 40% of the UK usage of aluminium in packaging.
- Aerosol cans are impossible to recycle and a wasteful form of packaging.
