South Hampshire planning concerns for new group

The Campaign to Protect Rural England has created a new South Hampshire Group to reflect changes to planning structures, covering areas within the South Hampshire Sub Region boundaries from Havant to the New Forest.

The charity is inviting all interested parties, individuals as well as local organisations, to a meeting on 22nd June to discuss issues which affect the whole of South Hampshire. Top of the agenda will be preparing for changes in regional planning and associated impacts and how we can seek to improve the relationship and influence of the environmental and civic amenity sector with the Local Authorities and PUSH (Partnership for Urban South Hampshire). The new Government has thrown out regional planning numbers and now is the time to revisit the tremendous pressures on the already overcrowded and under resourced South Hampshire Sub Region, and to ensure that new housing is designed, located and affordable for local people.

The event will be a chance to meet the group's new leader Mrs Caroline Dibden and talk to others in the locality.

Caroline Dibden said:

"We would like to work closely with other responsible organisations so that together we can protect the environment of the Sub-Region for the future."

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 22nd June at 5.30pm and will take at Our Lady Queen of Apostles, Martin Street, Bishops Waltham, SO32 1DN.
