CPRE's coach trip to the City of Bath and Prior Park Landscape Garden

CPRE has organised a coach visit to the City of Bath and Prior Park Landscape Garden on 21st May 2009.

The trip starts with a visit to Prior Park. This National Trust landscape garden is magnificent, set in a sweeping valley giving beautiful views of the City. You can cross one of only four Palladian bridges in the world while circuiting the Serpentine Lake and seeing the recently restored cascade and Wilderness area. Be aware there are steep slopes, steps and uneven paths in the garden and you will need "sensible walking shoes". For those not choosing to visit the Garden we will drop off in the City en route.

In the afternoon, there will be free time to explore the City of Bath. You may wish to visit some of the many attractions which include Pulteney Bridge, the Baths, the Pump Rooms, the Abbey, the Circus and Crescent, Museums and the Kennet and Avon Canal.

The coach from Clegg and Brooking will leave Andover, the bus bay in Bridge Street between the Methodist Church and the White Hart at 8.30am sharp and depending on demand will pick up in Stockbridge and Kings Somborne. We should leave Romsey Bus Station at 9.15, dropping off in Bath about 11am and arriving at the Garden just afterwards (staying for an hour or so).

We plan to leave the City at 4.30 to get us back to Romsey about 6 and back in Andover for 6.45pm.

For CPRE members the cost will be £18 (entry to the Garden is free for NT members, £5.25 for others and £4.25 if we can muster enough for group rates). For non members the cost will be £20. For all enquiries, please contact CPRE on 01962 843655.
