Call for entries to CPRE Hampshire Countryside and Design Awards

The deadline for entries to the new CPRE Hampshire Countryside and Design Awards is fast approaching! If you wish to win one of these prestigious awards, your entry must reach the charity by Friday, 21st March 2008.

The awards scheme, to be run annually, consists of three categories, in which projects that improve Hampshire's environment can be nominated to win an award. The award categories are:

  • Schools
  • Voluntary and Community
  • Public Sector and Business

It is hoped that the awards scheme will reward those working to enhance Hampshire's environment and draw attention to the necessity of good environmental practice.

Christopher Napier, Chairman of CPRE Hampshire said:

"This awards scheme is a perfect opportunity for us to recognise the hard work of volunteers, schools, businesses and public sector bodies in Hampshire that are showing leadership in conserving and enhancing our environment and countryside; also in advancing values which CPRE stands for, such as local foods and tranquillity; or in improving opportunities for our children to learn about our landscape and rural issues. We look forward to receiving many good applications now and over the coming years."

The Hampshire branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England is a charity that strives to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of this county's countryside. Its national Patron is Her Majesty the Queen. For more information on the judging criteria for each category, and to download a nominations form, please see the awards scheme page or call Becky and Pam on 01962 843655.
