About CPRE Hampshire
Hampshire has some of the most beautiful and varied countryside in England. Our downland, woodland and field landscape offers views with enduring beauty and character. We have two National Parks and two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which provide a rural retreat from the pace of modern life. We also have fine countryside which is not nationally designated but is distinctive, beautiful and much valued by local communities. Our unique chalk streams and water meadows are admired by many the world over. Along the coastal fringe, dissected by estuaries and river mouths wildlife still finds a peaceful refuge. This is why the Hampshire countryside is so important to all those who live and visit our beautiful County and we at CPRE Hampshire are dedicated to conserving and enhancing it.
CPRE Hampshire is a local charity dedicated to the needs of the Hampshire community. We want a beautiful, diverse and living countryside that everyone can value and enjoy.
As a forward thinking and constructive organisation, we campaign for the best solutions for our countryside - listening to the needs of local communities whilst respecting our Hampshire heritage.
It is only through vigilance and vigorous campaigning that we will be able to fulfil our ambition to serve the local community by keeping Hampshire as beautiful as it now is and leaving it a better place for future generations. CPRE Hampshire is the only charity dedicated to this purpose.
Our Vision: What do we want Hampshire to look like?
Our vision in Hampshire is of a beautiful, diverse and living countryside which is valued forever. We see Hampshire as leading the way in conservation enhancement of our countryside whilst meeting local needs.
Our vision for the countryside in 2026 (our centenary year) is realistic and achievable. Indeed, there are already many examples in Hampshire of the vision becoming reality.
